I signed up for DeepSeek paid version. 1,000,000 context window.
Just to test it out, I had it check a few files for errors and a few test questions. Cost, 0.02 cents. At that rate, in a few months I may have to add another $10.
Way faster and better than local AI.
I got OpenCode to use it. Can't use paid version from a browser.

In OpenCode, you can use DeepSeek V4 Flash, Hy3, MiMo V2.5, Nemotron 3 Ultra, North Mini code for free. All new models and pretty good, free.

I was going to upgrade to get better speed on local AI, not anymore. Problem solved!

DeepSeek V4 Flash + OpenCode
Pretty good combo. Asking it to check some code and make corrections, it not only looked at the code, but it also compiled it with GCC with all warnings on and used the results to determine the corrections. I had to give it permission to access GCC.
I'm up to 0.05 cents; this is starting to get expensive😊

YES I use that also.

Let me share 2 Hints:
1.You can install "ClaudeMem" to make it more efficient
2.If you use Deepseek 4 Flash its even cheaper and can do everything. I did not see a large difference to DeepSeek PRO in coding here.
So i generally use Flash and a higher thinking value.
3. It looks cheap first, if you use it a lot like me you can still get to $200 per month. AND the price will increase soon (and they will bring new models).
So a yearly Kimi Plan is still attractive. Especially with the new K3.

Also usable with Open Code:
3. You can also get a Kimi-CodingPlan - Kimi K3 is round the corner (Rumors say it comes today).
It will be the largest Open Model and beat everything out there (Rumors say) :-).

4. In my tests MiMo V2.5, Nemotron 3 Ultra, North Mini are mostly useless, Hy is relatively new and has good numbers, i did not test it a lot but from what i saw, i do not use it actually.
DeepSeek is the best choice for coding from the free models*.

*Free means there is a daily limit that is free, after that you need to wait for the next day (or pay).
